The week of 11 May 2026 highlighted the climate services backbone behind adaptation decisions. The Kenya Meteorological Department reported that Ag. Director Mr. Muriuki signed a non-binding agreement with Meteo France International to modernise meteorological services.
The same week, county-level resilience work remained visible. Taita Taveta intensified climate finance literacy, with county officials linking the training to the growing responsibility of counties to spearhead local climate action under financing mechanisms such as FLLoCA.
These developments point to the same implementation priority: communities need usable forecasts, practical climate information and clear finance pathways before projects can move from plans to results.
